I Know What It’s Like to Hold it All Together on The Outside- While Quietly Falling Apart On The Inside
Before I set up Clear Minds CBT, I spent years in high-pressure senior clinical leadership roles. From the outside, it looked like I had it all together. I was holding down a senior position, managing teams, hitting targets. But behind closed doors, I was running on empty. I told myself that I was fine- that this was just what high pressure work felt like. That the exhaustion was temporary. That I just needed to push through one more quarter, one more project, one more deadline.
Eventually I realised that the very traits that had made me successful- the drive, the high standards, the refusal to switch off were also the things keeping me stuck. Not because those traits are flaws. But because I didn't understand when they were working for me and when they were working against me.
That's the work I now do with clients. Not cheerleading. Not telling you to "think positive." But genuinely helping you understand what's keeping the anxiety, the self-doubt, or the exhaustion going, and changing it in a way that actually lasts.
I specialise in working with high-achieving professionals: people who are good at their jobs, respected by others, and quietly struggling. People who know, rationally, that they're capable, and still can't quite believe it. People who are tired of feeling like they're always one step away from being found out.
People often tell me they weren't sure what to expect from therapy, that they assumed it would mean lying on a metaphorical couch while someone nodded sympathetically. It isn't like that. I'm warm and I'm genuinely curious. But I'll also ask you the questions you've been avoiding, notice the patterns you haven't quite named yet, and gently challenge the stories you've been telling yourself ,particularly the ones that sound completely reasonable on the surface.
Most of my clients are intelligent, self aware people who've already spent a lot of time in their own heads. What they need isn't more analysis. It's a different perspective, some practical tools, and someone who takes them seriously enough to be honest with them.
If that sounds familiar, you're in the right place.
