What Therapy Looks Like

I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy — a structured, evidence-based approach recommended by NICE — to help you understand the patterns keeping you stuck and change them in a practical, lasting way.

This isn't about being told to think positive or handed a list of breathing exercises. It's about genuinely understanding what's going on and doing something about it. I'm warm and curious, but I'll also ask the questions you've been avoiding and gently challenge the stories you've been telling yourself.

Someone who understands both the clinical picture and the professional pressures behind it.

I'm Amanda Hodgson, a BABCP accredited CBT Therapist and HCPC registered Occupational Therapist. Before setting up Clear Minds CBT, I spent almost 20 years working across NHS, corporate, and private practice settings, including senior clinical leadership roles.

I know what it feels like to be the capable one , the person others rely on , while quietly running on empty. That experience shapes how I work. I bring warmth, curiosity, and a gently challenging approach that takes you seriously enough to be honest with you.
